Today, how we choose to live and what we believe will impact future generations that follow us in our lineage of faith. No one lives on an island of faith. Our faith, or the lack thereof, will impact future generations long after we are gone because we are connected.
I am one of Jan’s proofreaders for her final book of blessings. That book is the culmination of her five-volume set of blessings from Isaiah, which she has been writing for the last eight years. The final proofing should be done and submitted by Thanksgiving. I will announce its availability sometime after Thanksgiving.
As I proofread Jan’s book, I came across some comments she made that can set a different tone and purpose for why we follow Jesus.
In Jan’s Dedication of her book, she dedicated the book to our natural sons and daughters, but also “to all our spiritual sons and daughters around the globe. These blessings are your inheritance.”
Later in the book, Jan wrote, “I bless you with multi-generational promises given to your forefathers that were intended to mature and be accomplished through you. You are building on a legacy of lineage you may know nothing about, yet you will reap the fruit of the prayers and prophecies they planted” (Blessings from the Prophet Isaiah, Volume 5).
What caught my eye were the words, “You are building on a legacy of lineage you may know nothing about.” Because God causes all things to work together for our good – for our advantage, He can use our successes and failures and weave them together into a testimony we may not yet see.
What we believe and how we have lived will be part of a legacy we will leave behind. We need to invest wisely in how we live this life. How we lived our lives will be part of a legacy we may know nothing about, but it will be what God uses to write the script of our lives.
