Twice, I have seen the image of a great ship at a dock with its mooring lines unattached. The vessel represented the United States. Over time, the mooring lines had been cast off through deception and delusion leaving the vessel vulnerable. Our ship of state has traveled a long distance in its 247-year history to get to this safe harbor. Our ship is gently bobbing up and down while appearing to remain stationary as its cargo of freedom has been off-loaded but now that safety is now in jeopardy. Compromise and deceit undid our mooring lines, and our ship is adrift within the harbor. 

A storm is approaching that has gone undetected by those who are naïve and easily manipulated and who think they will remain safe forever in the harbor of the past. The coming storm will violently move the ship of our nation into open water without a captain at the helm and without charts to navigate her into the future. This drifting vessel will become a historic opportunity for apostolic and prophetic voices to take the helm with God as our captain to reform and redeem our future. This boarding will be preceded by a reformation within the Church that will become the model for our nation.

The sinking of a nation is not something that should be a foregone conclusion for a person of faith. God is ready to take the helm of the reformation of our nation once apostolic and prophetic voices have boarded and made her seaworthy. A glorious and victorious future awaits individuals and nations who choose to believe God is the Redeemer of all things, even nations who have gone adrift.

A reformation is upon us, a reformation that will bring us back to a safe and secure harbor. That passage is only possible if God is at the helm of our hearts. Those who say God is not concerned about nations are ill-informed regarding His purpose for the Church on Earth. We have been embedded by God in each nation to provide new leadership in a time of crisis when a ship of state has gone adrift while the threatening storms of change are approaching.
