No matter the visible failures being exposed in the leadership of the Church, the Lord remains forever true and faithful to His promises. He will never fail us. People will. A simple reading of Scripture reveals that these failures will occur in our time because they...
On the trail system above our home, new trail signs have been placed on the entrances to each trail. In the last few years, the old signs had become worn, some of them unreadable. The trail names haven’t changed. The new signs were put in place to make sure...
From time to time, we can slip into a subtle kind of pride. That pride makes us think we are better than those whom we condemn. We become stubborn and unchanging when our pride takes hold of our thinking. It’s a slippery slope that must be checked because on...
This morning, I prayed for the widows in my life. Each of these women had husbands who were friends of mine. They are living as women of God, each one serving the Lord in their unique way. When my father died, my mother lived another twenty years after his death. Jan...
Last week, I saw unusual photos from the city of Rancho Palos Verdes in Southern California. The landscape of the city has been moving dramatically up and down each week for the last year. Images of crumbled asphalt streets and homes tilted off their foundations were...

One of the most graphic instructions ever given in Scripture is when the Lord told the prophet Hosea to marry a prostitute to reflect how God saw the sins of the nation. The people had coupled themselves with anyone or anything to satiate their desires. When Hosea had...
A protocol is the current and accepted system of rules that govern our behavior. It applies to medicine, science, our diet, and the medical procedures we choose to follow. It also applies to our faith. In medicine, it was once the accepted protocol to bloodlet a...
Our greatest spiritual asset is our integrity. When integrity is present, we will be safe because we are living in the light. Those who live in the shadows will eventually enter a time of compromise where all that a person worked for will be lost. Yesterday, I watched...
