Yesterday while in worship, I saw the words “break-through” printed out before me in the Spirit. We normally combine the two words into one, but this time, they were distinctly revealed as two words.
I asked the Lord why He had separated one word into two. He said some things must break apart before being rebuilt into His original design and purpose. A breaking apart of what is contrary to His will must occur before we can move forward into something new.
We can too easily attach the word breakthrough to only something positive. Our first impulse is to distance ourselves from the pain and suffering that will come when a breaking season begins. As a result, we can resist what the Lord is doing. Some things need to literally break apart so they can be reconstructed. This can apply in all areas of our lives.
Marriages can go through a breaking season so they can be rebuilt into God’s intended union of oneness. Fortunes can be won and lost so that they can be rebuilt with God’s purpose in mind. Our careers may radically change in a breaking season offering us new opportunities we had not previously considered.. Even how we think about life and God’s Kingdom can be dismantled and reassembled under the leading of the Spirit to release new ways of thinking.
To experience the pain of a break-through and choose to remain faithful to the Lord in the process, will release Him to do a deep and lasting breakthrough that will reveal the will of God in ways we cannot imagine. Do not fear these breaking seasons because the Lord is bringing a breakthrough that will take us to a new and unimagined place of revelation. After the breaking of the old is over and the new season has arrived, we will thank Him for what happened.
