We should never judge the servant of another, “Who are you to condemn someone else’s servants? Their own master will judge whether they stand or fall. And with the Lord’s help, they will stand and receive his approval” (Romans 14:4).
Our opinions about life and what we perceive as reality are too uncertain and limited apart from our knowledge of Jesus Christ and the truth about Him. When all the division we see that is currently disrupting the Body of Christ, we need to be willing to come back together, in Christ, if our witness to the world is to remain intact.
As Jesus was praying to the Father regarding the unity they shared, He prayed for His Church, “I pray that they will all be one, just as you and I are one—as you are in me, Father, and I am in you. And may they be in us so that the world will believe you sent me” (John 17:21). That oneness is not a oneness of our opinions and preferences. It’s a oneness that is only found in our unity with Jesus.
We need to prepare our hearts as the Lord calls us to come back together in Him. The stakes of that choice are higher than any opinion we hold that divided us from those whom the Lord has redeemed. Coming back together will be seen as a miracle – a miracle only the Lord can do if our hearts are willing.
Such an important word for all believers!
