Historic wells of revival are being reactivated, and new wells are being dug for the first time. Our progress will be revealed by the discovery of these new wells. Both old and new wells bear witness to what God has done in the past and to the promise of what He plans to do in the future.
While some of these historic wells need to be dug again in faith, new wells are also being discovered and activated for the first time. We can focus only on the past and celebrate what happened in days gone by, but forget that God is digging new wells in our day.
The Lord is digging both old wells and new wells alike. John references the words of Jesus, “I am making everything new! Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true” (Revelation 21:5). The language used here refers to a renewal of what happened in the past and also what is yet to be revealed.
That newness is an all-encompassing work of God that will join the old with the new. The Lord will reactivate some of these old wells and make them ready for this moment in time. It will also reveal the locations of new wells where the waters of revival will spring forth for the first time, changing entire cultures.
Drink from the wells our loving Father provides,be fortified.
See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.
