We can think that demonic possession only occurs in people. God wants to expand our understanding of this subject. The goal of demons is to possess anything – people, politics, governments, systems of commerce, even some churches whose theologies are being used by the devil to promote evil and expand the acceptance of deception.
With the advent of AI (Artificial Intelligence) and its rapid advances, we are stepping into unfamiliar spiritual territory where demonic powers wait to inhabit its usage. It is being created by those who have programmed its usage for nefarious purposes.
I recently listened to an interview with a man connected with some of the developers of AI in Silicon Valley. These developers are employing cultic practices, seeking insight from the spiritual realm on how to create and structure AI. Their practices have involved the worship of Satan. Their worship is drawing on spirits from the unseen realm—demons—who offer intelligence not available through the normal progression of human education and understanding.
Like much of what John wrote in Revelation and what Paul referred to in Ephesians 6:12 about spiritual warfare being waged “against the spiritual forces in the heavenly realms,” shared a similar dilemma. These apostles did not have a contemporary example or language to reveal what they were seeing and attempting to explain to their readers.
Imagine living in a world under the control of demonic AI manifestations where those who are wielding its power can control entire populations. What is coming with advanced AI will be too convenient to live without. The buying and selling of essential items needed for living and employment will be regulated based on AI’s assessment of a person’s adherence to its programming. Many have wondered why people would be willing to accept the mark of the beast without question. At that time, according to human logic, it will make sense.
The idea that demonic powers could occupy our technology is hard for some of us to comprehend. We need to consider its possibility because the development and deployment of AI is happening at such a rapid and dizzying rate. We will not have time to stop and ponder its negative effect when we need to feed a family or find a job.
Our greatest peril is not AI itself, but yielding to the fear and uncertainty it will create. Our greatest spiritual asset is our faith in God and our belief in His promise that He will never leave us or forsake us during times of uncertainty.
Thank you Garris for this enlightening post on AI.
In a time when technology is advancing as rapidly as it is, we certainly need the Holy Spirits discernment and wisdom to navigate through these uncharted waters.
