Your trust will be tested in the coming days. Some of those you thought would remain faithful will not. You don’t need to pray for protection from your betrayers. Pray for your heart’s attitude when you experience the pain of betrayal.

This time of testing will require that you guard the condition of your heart at all costs. Bitterness and unforgiveness want to coil themselves around your heart and strangle your love.

Next to your relationship with Jesus, the condition of your heart is the most important thing to guard when you are being tested. It will determine the course you take for the rest of your life.

“Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life” (Proverbs 4:23).
