No matter the visible failures being exposed in the leadership of the Church, the Lord remains forever true and faithful to His promises. He will never fail us. People will. A simple reading of Scripture reveals that these failures will occur in our time because they have occurred throughout the history of the Church in every generation.
Human failure is not the end of the promises the Lord has made to individuals and, and on a larger scale, to the global Church worldwide. Perhaps it’s the steadfastness and durability of our faith that is being tested.
Our test is to “Hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful” (Hebrews 10:23). The confession of our hope will be tested in the rubble of human failure.
