Every new season of change requires that we readjust our grip to ensure we are taking hold of what matters most to God. We need to regain that grip because a shaking is coming and instability is on the rise.

“So, take a new grip with your tired hands and strengthen your weak knees. Mark out a straight path for your feet so that those who are weak and lame will not fall but become strong” (Hebrews 12:12-13).  We need to readjust our grip to align us with a straight path of personal integrity taking hold of what defines us as the people of God. That choice will make us strong in our faith.

What we take hold of will determine the level of our security in times of great shaking. It will surprise many that the shaking of the Lord within His Church will be more profound than any shaking within nations.  After this shaking begins, “Only unshakable things will remain” (vs. 27). 

“Since we are receiving a Kingdom that is unshakable, let us be thankful and please God by worshiping him with holy fear and awe. For our God is a consuming fire” (vs. 28-29). The consuming fire of God is an act of His love and an expression of His truth. It’s nothing to fear.

When the shaking intensifies and the consuming fire of God is fully revealed, our spiritual survival will be assured if we have taken hold of what matters to God. That is an unshakeable grip that will not fail us in the most intense seasons of change and transformation.
