One of my favorite holiday treats comes from the leftover pieces of pie dough that Jan forms into little rolls filled with brown sugar and cinnamon. They are an anticipated joy that appears each year at this time when Jan makes the crusts for her holiday pies. She has been doing this for the last 51 years of our marriage. The little roles remind me of life. One person’s leftovers can be formed into something that creates joy when it’s done with love. The smell of baked goodness has officially set off the coming holiday season in Elkinisville.
