We have just come through a season in our nation where we were told to believe lies calling them good. We have been told to believe those lies at the personal expense of punishment for those who reject the lies and hold onto God’s truth. An appeasing Church is weak. An obedient Church is strong. Our strength is discovered in God’s truth, not by accepting human replacements for the truth.
Isaiah wrote, “What sorrow for those who say that evil is good and good is evil, that dark is light, and light is dark, that bitter is sweet and sweet is bitter. What sorrow for those who are wise in their own eyes and think themselves so clever” (Isaiah 5:20-21). Where our wisdom is sourced is important to understand.
There is a reason why people have believed the lies that support these deceptions, “For they have rejected the law of the Lord of Heaven’s Armies; they have despised the word of the Holy One of Israel” (vs. 24).
Only God’s word and the truth it declares can save us from moving deeper toward greater deception.
When the Lord assigns leaders in the Church, or when He places them at the helm of a nation to correct this downward spiral, they will uncover the lies we have been told to believe. They will disrupt the direction of that deceptive path. None of these disrupters are perfect. Only God is perfect. To dismiss these disrupters is to dismiss the corrective message God wants to bring to us that will save us from unnecessary pain and sorrow.
Our only safe haven in this disruption is our obedience to God’s word. To abandon its established truth and redefine evil as good is a decision that will have dire consequences. It will write a record of history that God did not intend for His Church or for the nation where we live and express our faith.
To be on the right side of spiritual history requires we honor God’s word and not allow anyone with a clever idea to cause us to abandon God’s truth, no matter the intensity of the threats that will come against us.
Jesus said, pay attention to what you are hearing. PV 26:22
Gossip is so delicious and how we love to swallow it. For slander is easily absorbed into our innermost being.
Hatred is the root of slander and insecurity the root of flattery .
Lot of hate out there. WTF, where the faith!
