Whatever is in your future, after many failures and for the sake of holiness, God’s calling will eventually come into existence. Wait and continue to love God with all your heart; you will eventually see what God has called you to become.
Two things began to take place in Joseph’s life after he was sold by his brothers into slavery. When he was eventually sold into Potiphar’s home, his life began blessing Potiphar. “The Lord began to bless Potiphar’s household for Joseph’s sake” (Genesis 39: 5). Joseph rejected the sexual advances of Potiphar’s wife and was tossed into prison. Soon, all the inmates and all the prison work were put in the hands of Joseph. “But the Lord was with Joseph in the prison and showed him his faithful love” (Genesis 39: 12).
Through the ups and downs in his calling, Joseph would soon emerge into his greater calling – the leadership of Israel second only under the Pharoah. It would be this calling that would move the children of Israel into a safe place amidst greater suffering and famine.
Do not stop if one failure takes place. Joseph exemplified what it means to keep going forward in your obedience. To stop after one failure or many, is not you’re calling.
Even at your brother’s hands, “You intended to harm me, but God intended it all for good. He brought me to this position so I could save the lives of many people” (Genesis 50:6). A person with a calling, who is willing to continue obeying God, will arrive at places that will bring great healing to those even guilty of tossing him into a pit.
GOD intended it for good!
Amen! Learning to get up again and again and again after the winds of the evil one try their best to blow us off course.
Being on our knees is actually a great blessing!
Thank you. Nice encouragement to start the day.
