Some of you do not have a prominent place in God’s Kingdom by human standards or measurement. You did not stand behind a pulpit or get asked to speak somewhere. You never wrote a book, published a blog, or sat for an interview to tap your wisdom.

Instead, you have lived a faithful life, having your ear attuned to God’s voice and doing your best to honor the Lord by your obedience to Him. Your obedience did not lead you to a place of earthly prominence.

It seems like your name will be forgotten in history once you are gone. Yet, you will not be forgotten because those you extended God’s love to in this life will remember you, as will the Lord. Once you leave this life, there is an awaiting heavenly audience, a cloud of witnesses, who lived a life like yours. They are waiting to celebrate your arrival in Heaven and welcome you into the cloud of witnesses.

For those in that cloud, they no longer remember their earthly obscurity. It has been replaced by something far more profound than any earthly position or accomplishment could offer. They, like you, will have heard the Lord say, “Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness” (Matthew 25:23).
