NO MIND HAS IMAGINED

“No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love Him” (1 Corinthians 2:9).

On the other hand, those who do not know God are blind and deaf because they are not alive spiritually. Paul described it as a veil that covered their hearts. They do not understand. This veil can be removed only by believing in Jesus the Anointed One (see II Corinthians 3:14-15).

We can try to convince people in our family, our neighborhood, and our workplace of God’s truth, but until the veil is removed from their hearts, our reasoning will fall flat.

We want to respond with kindness and compassion. But that is far easier said than done. Our human tendency is to take a defensive stance.

Even as I write, images and conversations come to mind. Initially, I’m more likely to think, “Why can’t they see the truth. Can they hear what they’re saying?”

However, we have a powerful promise we can count on to help us respond the way Jesus does:

“For the Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. So, all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord—who is the Spirit—makes us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image” (vs. 16-18).

Once I was blind. I, too, needed to see and understand my spiritual plight without Jesus. And when I turned to Him, the veil was taken away. He set me free. And He is changing me into His image, making me more and more like Him—to reflect His glory-presence.

I am counting on His presence and love to flow through me when I speak, when I pray, when I encounter another lost soul.
