Yesterday, Jan and I went to see the movie, Sound of Freedom. The movie deals with human sex trafficking. It reveals a sick reality that prowls our streets and consumes the innocent among us. The victims of this trafficking are our children.

A few days ago, I was hiking the trails in the mountains above our home and came across the severed leg of a fawn. It could easily have been passed by it thinking it was just a tiny branch that had fallen from the trees above. To take the attached photo, I had to magnify the image three times just to make it visible enough to be seen in the attached photo.

The image of the severed fawn leg reminds me of the innocent ones that sex traffickers have consumed. It also reminds me of the predators in any form who are coming after our children whether they be sex traffickers, government officials who promote sexual perversion involving children, and those who sever our children from their innocence by their garish displays of perversion in the public square. As a former vice cop who worked in the seedy world of adult hookers and pimps, the sex trafficking of our children is far and away much worse than anything I ever saw working in the world of prostitution. 

There are more people held today in slavery of all kinds than at any time during the years when the slave trade was legal. Human sex slavery is a multi-billion dollar industry that rivals the drug trade in its profits. Some who occupy the highest positions in our government, those on the roster of the Epstein Island visitors log, and those who live normal-looking lives like the neighbor living next door are consumers of this perversion. Most of us walk by the severed lives of their victims ignorant of what we just stepped over not noticing the evidence of sex trafficking that exist right under our noses as we go about our daily lives. 

The movie, Sound of Freedom, depicted the broken heart of a father whose children were taken by sex traffickers. He felt helpless and hopeless. At the end of the movie, his son and daughter were eventually rescued and returned to him by a very brave man. If my child was being held captive and needed to be rescued, I would hope that someone the woke part of our culture defines as a man with “toxic masculinity” would be the one who came to their rescue.

While we need strong and courageous rescuers, we also need active intercessors on the other side of the rescue spectrum who are willing to pray for those guilty of such heinous crimes to have a change of heart. This would be a two-way assault on the issue of sex trafficking eroding its profit and eventually its existence. Among the nations of the world, America is the greatest consumer of such evil.
