SUBMERGED IN GOD’S SPIRIT

In prayer, I saw an image. The image was of an underground river that flowed beneath the surface turmoil and obstacles of life. The person in the image jumped into an opening on the surface, allowing themselves to be carried by the current to an unknown destination. To jump down into the river’s flow required an act of faith because to a natural mind, this act of faith seemed wrought with uncertainty.

What the river represented was the Spirit of God. The river can take us to places we could not imagine had we not entered the flow of the Spirit without having a final destination in mind.

This is a time when the Lord is taking His people to new places in the Spirit that will require they choose to flow with God’s Spirit, not the masquerading spirits of deception. Those who take the plunge will not know where they are being taken or how long the Spirit will submerge their lives.

Don’t be concerned when God asks you to submerge yourself in His presence. Being out of sight from the surface confusion is the only way forward when the surface of life is divided and confusing.

The choice to submerge ourselves in God’s Spirit requires that we trust God will be with us in our time of submersion.  “When you go through deep waters, I will be with you” (Isaiah 43:2).

We are living in a time of a great reset within the Church.  The Lord is asking us to submit to the flow of the Spirit without knowing where He is moving us. The reset will lead the Church to a place that can only be experienced when we trust the Lord to be with us in our time of submersion.

Our surfacing will be like it was on the Day of Pentecost when the first disciples experienced something they could not imagine. “They stood there, amazed and perplexed. ‘What can this mean?’ they asked each other” (Acts 2:12).

It means that God is bringing His people to the surface of a  new and unexpected reality. This will happen because we chose to follow the flow of God’s Spirit, not the surface turmoil and division that surrounds us.
