Yesterday, I cleaned out the accumulated ash inside our woodstove. After removing the ash, I stacked firewood inside the stove in preparation for the next burn. This morning it was warm enough to not fire up the stove. I will wait until tomorrow when the temperatures are forecast to drop.

A few minutes ago, after reading the word, I brought up the image on Facebook of a person I love dearly who has been struggling with life for the last 25 years. I put my bible atop my computer screen as I looked at their image and prayed for the word of God to ignite their abandoned faith. Just as I uttered those words; my woodstove issued a crackling pop like the sound a stove emits when in the process of developing a strong burn. The noise was so loud and unusual that it shocked me. The stove had been cold for 24 hours. It was a Spirit-inspired sound to gain my attention and to prophesy.

The sound I heard this morning was a message of what is coming. Because of privacy issues, I can’t disclose in more detail who or what I am about to share.  Jan and I have been praying for several people we know and love. One group owns a large regional construction company and the other group is developing a ministry platform of such significance that history may reveal the platform was used by God to usher in the fulfillment of the Great Commission. Both parties had supernatural ignitions take place in the last few days that brought unexpected breakthroughs and provisions. Without the ignition of the fire of the Spirit, the breakthrough and provision they experienced would not have taken place. 

This word will apply to many of you who have faithfully followed the Lord. Like someone cleaning out a woodstove filled with ash, you have removed all the debris of the past and even stacked in faith what you need to welcome a new burn of God’s Spirit in your life. Some of you have prepared the stove of your faith regarding the lives of those you love but who failed to receive your love. You have lived a prepared life in the last season faithfully waiting for a fresh burn of the Spirit to begin. It is time. The sounds of the Spirit’s fire will soon be heard to honor your faithful preparation and reveal the love of God in unusual demonstrations. Expect the fire of God to fall in unexpected places. No place of need is too small to draw the attention of God’s flame. Listen for the sounds of ignition. They will be the first sound that something wonderful is about to take place.
