Out of the upheaval and resulting division that is taking place both in the nations of the world and within the Church, something unexpected will take place. A courageous faith like the faith of Joseph of Arimathea will be revealed. 

Joseph of Arimathea was a prominent religious leader. He was a secret disciple because he feared the repercussions that would follow the public disclosure of his faith. Joseph represents many in the Church today who are faithful followers, yet their faith has not been made public. It has been lived in private.

After the Lord’s crucifixion, Joseph wanted to honor the body of Jesus. This act of honor would be the coming out moment of Joseph’s faith. He went to Pilate, a Roman government official, and asked for the body of Jesus. Now both the government and the religious group to which Joseph belonged would realize in no uncertain terms where Joseph stood.

Joseph owned a tomb where he planned to place the Lord’s body. After wrapping the Lord in a linen cloth, Joseph placed His body in the tomb. It was Joseph who rolled the stone across the entrance to the Lord’s tomb.

 Events will soon unfold that will be a Joseph moment in our generation. This will not be a single event, but it will occur across the board of those who have remained silent and in the background of the current drama we see unfolding within our world. These individuals are embedded within all spheres of societal influence. They are people who have lived a silent faith until now when a critical moment is at hand. Their actions will be motivated by their love for God creating an unexpected response. A divine unction will rise in the hearts of these previously silent ones and they will exhibit courageous expressions of visible honor and love for the Lord. This love and honor will be more powerful than any restrictions imposed upon them by their earthly alliances in an attempt to silence their voice.

In moments of unexpected public disclosure, these new Josephs will declare their love for Jesus to the unbelief of those still trapped in their misguided assumptions and beliefs. They will risk everything, their reputations and group acceptance, to honor the Lord. Following their public display of honor, a resurrection will occur that will shift the course of human history.
