A coming revival in the Church will fill the Temples of God with His glory. In this covenant, the Temple represents our lives, not a physical structure.
In the time of Haggai, the people had allowed God’s Temple to go unfinished. This incomplete representation of the people’s faith happened because the enemies they were facing had occupied their time and energy. The Lord was shifting the focus from their enemies to embrace once again His presence and follow His instructions to rebuild the Temple into a place where the Lord could occupy and demonstrate His glory.
When this was happening, Haggai spoke a word from the Lord to the people to reset their faith, “I am with you, says the Lord!” (Haggai 1:13). The reviving blessing of God’s presence would reset the lives of the people, demonstrating His presence among them.
“I am giving you a promise now while the seed is still in the barn. You have not yet harvested your grain, and your grapevines, fig trees, pomegranates, and olive trees have not yet produced their crops. But from this day onward I will bless you” (2:18-19).
The blessings of God will produce fruit not attained by human effort. It will be a work of grace, not the result of human effort.
This coming revival will have a great effect on the entire world and on all aspects of our lives. It will cause God’s people to finish what they started, but had allowed the enemies of their faith to become a stumbling block to their faithfulness.
“For this is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies says: In just a little while I will again shake the heavens and the earth, the oceans and the dry land. I will shake all the nations, and the treasures of all the nations will be brought to this Temple. I will fill this place with glory, says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies. The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies. The future glory of this Temple will be greater than its past glory, says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies. And in this place, I will bring peace. I, the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, have spoken!” (2:6-9).
Such a powerful and timely word. Love those scriptures. Something to re-read and pray into.
Have you thought about submitting this to the Elijah List? I’m going to share this with my pastors. It’s time to lean into God’s grace instead of our human efforts.
“Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit says the Lord.”
