A friend of mine holds a significant support position in an organization of regional influence. Of late, my friend has taken on an overwhelming amount of added duties. I knew this situation would not last long if emotional and spiritual health was to be maintained. 

My counsel to my friend was to define the boundaries of the assignment under the guidance of God’s Spirit and the Lord would be faithful to cover everything outside those boundaries. There is no need to allow guilt or a sense of unhealthy allegiance to become a slave driver and push someone into a place of fatigue and despair.

Boundaries in all areas of our lives are critical if we are to fulfill our calling long term. Even the most intimate relationships of life enter a place of jeopardy if this principle is violated.
