I’ve seen a Kingdom principle demonstrated by global financial consultants. They see the world financial market as an interconnected whole, not just a stand-alone national market. The advice they offer to financial planners is based on something much larger and long-term.
In God’s Kingdom, we have been given apostles as one of the five equipping gifts whose task it is to teach us how to see our place in the global Kingdom assignment of the Church. Sadly, many have been led to believe an apostle is a self-appointed title supported by a name on a business card, garnering speaking engagements, or having their face plastered on garish conference advertisements. These imposters disempower their listeners offering them a warped idea of the purpose of the Church and its role in the world.
True apostles are assigned by God. They carry a Kingdom blueprint for regions, nations, and the world. Like a trusted financial planner who helps a client see their investment from a global perspective, so it is for an apostle. The blueprint an apostle carries will promote and support God’s global evangelistic plan and the transformation of nations, not a personal ministry. The effect of that blueprint has been a spiritual detergent used to cleanse the Church of self-promoters. It has also birthed the global missions movement.
As our world moves deeper into disarray and fear tightens its grip, fear will attempt to blind us to something much larger that God is doing on a global scale. God’s blueprint will give us clarity of vision and purpose in these uncertain times.
As fear and uncertainty intensify, those who relate to this life through an apostolic interpretation of God’s blueprint will gain a greater sense of hope as they begin to understand what is transpiring is part of a much larger plan of global redemption. Seeing the turmoil of our world through the lens of that blueprint will have a calming effect and help people know where to invest their time, energy, and resources for the glory of God and the expansion of His Kingdom.
Thank you, Garris. Your analogy brought this home for me your words produce hope and purpose. Thank you for being a steady, strong, trustworthy voice.
