On a walk through our town, I kept seeing bare branches of the trees holding water droplets. I felt impressed to take a photo to capture the image. When I got home, I looked at the photo. All the drops were out of focus, but the flag of the United States was a clear image.
As I pondered the image further, I understood the water drops represented what God wanted to do in our nation. We cannot shake the tree of our nation or even imagine what will take place in a shaking. Whatever the shaking is it will begin first in Church. The shaking is a work only God can create and accomplish. We can pray and believe, but God is the shaker of nations. In the past, I’ve touched a drop-laden branch and my nudge released all the water being held back. As a nation, those trusting God are waiting for His touch. Much of our faith has been directed toward things unable to release what God wants to accomplish.
Many are living among illusions. These illusions represent the strength of our finances, governmental structure, and military might. The Lord has allowed us to follow these illusions just as Israel was allowed to follow their illusions and worship false gods. A great shaking is coming and only those whose hope is secure in Jesus will understand what is happening.
Soon the hand of God will enter the photograph of our lives and touch the branches and a great shaking will begin This is a time to focus our lives and our witness on whatever nation where we are living. We are the salt and light of God placed in our nation and used by Him to transform the nation where we live. At just the right time, the Lord will shake the tree of our nation and an outpouring will occur. It is our calling to hold onto our faith in God while this shaking takes place and not lose hope.
Nations.
