I am sitting in front of our woodstove on a cold Oregon November day. Snow graces the summits of the surrounding hills. The sounds coming from our woodstove are those deeper thud-like sounds of ignition when a fire is entering a more mature burn. It is in that deeper burn when a fire settles into its calling to produce a more significant heat signature.
As the fire in our woodstove continues to burn, I am reminded that the Lord is doing a deeper burn in all of us than the immature crackling sound of a fire that is just beginning to burn. Listen for those deeper tones. They are evidence that God is at work and moving you deeper into His intended purpose for your life.
