THE TRANSFORMING POWER OF GOD’S TRUTH

Amid the growing national division and turmoil taking place in America, the Church has been planted in each city to reverse a descent into greater expressions of evil. Our presence and witness have the power to turn the spiritual tide and bring hope for a better future.

Every action of our lives and every word we speak that aligns with God’s truth is transformative. It carries the hope of moving toward a greater good, no matter how crazy and wild the increasing expressions of evil may appear.

Solomon wrote, “Upright citizens are good for a city and make it prosper, but the talk of the wicked tears it apart” (Proverbs 11:11). We will either express God’s goodness or become part of what tears a city apart. The choice is ours.

The word “upright” means to make something straight, level, and in line with God’s truth. How we choose to live our lives matters, even if a culture has rejected God’s truth. The Lord will provide undeniable evidence of His goodness through those who follow Him. Those whose deception is so deep may not yet see our lives as an expression of goodness. They will only see our choices as judgment.

In the fray that comes from living a life of truth, don’t give up. The prosperity of our cities will eventually be revealed. Only a fool will deny the evidence. Even some of the most hardened ones, who strongly disagree with us and continue to express greater forms of evil and wickedness, will someday be touched by God and turned toward His will and purposes.

The louder and more disturbing the anger and protests become, the more evidence it will be that God is about to do the impossible. With God, all things are possible, even turning hardened hearts from their wickedness to follow the prospering ways of the Lord.

When it seems the impossible is not possible, trusting God will be our only hope as we face situations that seem impossible to transform. We have an assignment in these tumultuous times: “Trust in the Lord and do good. Then you will live safely in the land and prosper” (Psalms 37:3).
