If you want to impact an emerging generation or a group of people you will need to remove complaint and criticism from your conversation. No one lends an ear to a negative spirit. Phrases like, “The youth of today…” or “Those people…” are introductory phrases that release demeaning and dismissive words. You have been called to find the good and the gold in all people and circumstances. This does not mean you lack the depth of character required to speak the truth in love or that you do not have the courage to confront a lie. It means you have learned to filter the sound and feel of what you communicate to represent the heart of God, not the faithless thoughts of what sounds like an unredeemed mind.
