TRUTH WILL FIND A WAY

No matter how imposing a spiritual obstacle might appear, there is always an access point through which God will move to express His will. Discovering that point is strategic.

Scripture talks of a city called Jebus where the Canaanite tribe, the Jebusites, lived. The Jebusites were described as “the original inhabitants of the land who were living there” (II Samuel 5:6). From the wall of the city, the Jebusites mocked Israel, “You will not get in here; even the blind and the lame can ward you off.” (vs. 6).

As the boisterous and over-confident Jebusites continued to mock Israel, David discovered a vulnerable access point through the city’s defense. It was an unguarded water tunnel. The Israelites secretly entered the city through the tunnel and overcame its troops. “So, David then took up residence in the fortress and called it the City of David” (vs. 90). The City of David, once occupied by an enemy, would become known as Jerusalem.  For the last 3,000 years, Jerusalem has been home to the Jewish nation. Only by conquering the city could David rename it.

There is a great deal of mockery and taunting of God’s people today. The mounting offense against and the censorship of God’s truth can seem overwhelming. The mocking and social dismissal of truth has affected the sound of some believers’ voices, causing them to remain silent when they should be speaking the truth. Like it was for David when he assaulted the city of Jebus, the truth will always find a way into whatever is opposing God’s will. Following that path will lead us to victory and the right to rename a person or a place for the glory of God
