UNEXPECTED CHOICES

In prayer, I saw an image that could have a variety of applications. It was a pen held above a ballot yet to be cast, or a declaration needing formal agreement, or a marker indicating an agreement with a new course to be taken. When the person marked their choice, a change would begin, like the first domino falling.

As the person positioned their pen to mark their final vote of agreement, the Spirit moved their pen to mark an unexpected choice. The Lord directed their pen to move away from what was expected of them. That single vote would change the course of history.

Previous agreements, once thought to continue forever uninterrupted, will be stalled and unable to move forward. What the Lord has planned will come because of a single vote.

As the Spirit caused the pen to move and mark an unexpected agreement, it revealed what had already been happening in the person’s heart, but only needed a nudge from God’s Spirit to cast their dissenting vote. That vote will cause others to reconsider what they were about to do, and likewise, cast a similar vote.

All the Lord needs to alter the course of history is for one person to do His will, even when their choice is made among great opposition. The Lord is working through unexpected people to make unexpected choices. He will use those choices to reshape the future.

We have entered a time of the unexpected.

I believe this is a timely word and a call to prayer.
It goes along with a word my husband had last week, “Shifting tides.”
    Zechariah 4:6
“Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit says the Lord of Hosts.”

In your first line you wrote that this application could have various applications. Indeed.

My mind went in a variety of directions as the Spirit stirred.
Though I saw it as epic in the spiritual sense, I paused to consider global and political decisions but then to this message down to today.

Today those of us who follow the leading and provocations of the Lord may have choices, or one choice that creates the domino effect of God’s will to unfurl.

Alternately, staying with the predictable and presumed action could be a simple miss, or catastrophic.

Thanks for sharing your vision and perspective. Your words carry a weight that is a precursor to important matters.

Please pray for Pastor Johnny Fernandes who is struggling with brain cancer and family issues in a Portland, OR hospital. Thank you.
