You thought it would take more time and effort to see the fruitfulness of your labor, but something has changed in the timeline. You are about to see the first evidence that an early harvest is coming. The harvest of that spiritual fruit will come in a time when others said fruitfulness was not possible.
Jan and I are turning our front yard into a garden and small orchard. We have planted berries, spices, and various fruit trees, among them a peach tree. We were told peaches would not appear on the tree for a year or two, but there they are, about thirty small peaches beginning to appear just months after planting the bare roots of the tree. The harvest time for spiritual fruit can be mistakenly defined based only on natural laws and human expectations. The timing of a spiritual harvest must take into account one critical element – the hand of the Master Gardener has been at work in the garden. God’s grace and mercy place fruitfulness on a different timeline. The Lord can bear fruit both in and out of the seasons of our expectations. Look again at the branches of your faith. The evidence that pre-mature spiritual fruit is appearing will be seen by those who choose to look at the branches with the eyes of faith.
