WHERE HOPE BLOSSOMS

Each spring for the last 20 years, I have walked past a gulley near our home to see a small patch of daffodils. They have never become more than just a patch. The color of the bright yellow flowers pops against the green grass background of the gulley. The daffodils are an early announcement that spring is coming.

Spring is my favorite time of year. It marks the year with an emotional response, not just the effect of a calendar date like January. A word or a vision of hope is where I find a point of engagement allowing me to work in partnership with whatever it is that God has promised. I walked away from the patch of daffodils with the same feeling.

Today, we need to read a prophetic word of hope or find a place where a sense of hope was experienced. In those places, any adjustments to our attitude will need to be made before we move forward. As a follower of Jesus Christ, we are never in a place where all hope is gone or where our current experience is somehow the end of our road.

When I stopped by the gulley to capture a photo of the daffodils, something shifted within me. I was moved toward a place of hope. That hope caused me to look deeper past the dark future many are forecasting as our only option. Only when hope is present can we rightly determine how the future will unfold.

With Jesus, The best is yet to come! It doesn’t matter what the “world” forecasts…

”I leave the gift of peace with you—my peace. Not the kind of fragile peace given by the world, but my perfect peace. Don’t yield to fear or be troubled in your hearts—instead, be courageous!“
