As 2024 approaches and our nation processes yet another election cycle, our faith must be built upon the victory of the Cross of Christ, not on the dangling bits of false hope offered to us by a change in government. Pursuing the latter as our primary goal will lead us to deepening frustration, especially if what we hoped for does not transpire. Our presence as believers embedded in culture calls us to pursue righteous change in our government whenever possible because that is part of loving our neighbor as ourselves. 

To have an enduring faith in such times is not vague and unfocused. It is a faith focused solely on the person of Jesus Christ. That focus is the source of our hope in uncertain times. It endures through a season of change no matter what earthly result occurs because we have anchored our hope on Jesus, not on what we see happening in the world around us in the New Year.
