Last night, Jan and I watched the movie Nefarious. It’s about a man on death row awaiting execution. He was demon-possessed. The movie was remarkable and, in some scenes, a biblically accurate dialogue between the demon-possessed man and a psychiatrist who began his interaction with the inmate as a skeptic. His skepticism changed by the end of the film.

One of the most revealing scenes in the movie was the dialogue between the inmate and a compromised prison chaplain who had bought into a humanist concept of life that did not make room for demons or demonic possession. The demon inside the man smiled and laughed at the ignorance being displayed by the chaplain.

Be careful out there. The devil is prowling about seeking to devour a naïve meal of human reasoning. The demons know more about what is happening in the spiritual world than some in the Church who have been groomed to dismiss such a reality.

If we keep our eyes fixed on Jesus and immediately confess our sins, we will not give the devil a foothold to begin his nefarious work in our lives
