ASSIGNED SEATS

In a dream, I was waiting in line to enter a room. When I entered the room, I was told we had assigned seats. I began to search for my seat and finally found it and sat down. All of us were waiting for our turn to speak. I didn’t know any of the people who were present. After sharing what we were assigned to speak, we left the room one after the other while others shared their word.

After I awoke, I realized the dream had to do with two aspects of prophetic ministry – taking our seat in God’s timing and waiting our turn to deliver what we have been assigned to speak.

No prophetic word stands alone. Each word has a timing, purpose, and reason for its delivery. Once delivered, our word will be aligned with other words that are being spoken to the Church. The alignment of what, when, and where to speak requires patience regarding the delivery of a prophetic word. Exercising patience will align us with the momentum God intends for a word to gain and deliver its impact.

The room in the dream represented a prophetic assembly and how each prophet was to be positioned within the global prophetic movement. The room was a place of assembly for people we will never meet but are contributing to a larger prophetic word the Lord wants to deliver.

No individual in Scripture who delivered a prophetic word did it alone. Those words were delivered into a larger developing context that would not be complete without the accumulation of other words. That accumulation will join with other words to reveal a larger truth the Lord wants to reveal. Even a prophet who is uttering what seems to be a fragmented and incomplete word will provide an element of interpretation that will be critical to understanding a larger revelation.

An impatient prophet is someone who has not yet learned to wait their turn. When a word is burning in our hearts patience is critical. Finding our place in the larger prophetic waiting room and waiting for our turn to speak will give our word its proper timing and will release its intended impact.

My friend (Don) and I were talking about timing when we share something Our Lord was showing us. What you shared is the direction we needed. Thanks
