Today, the idols held sacred and put on display in our culture will be demolished by the presence of the Lord. The assumed victories of these false gods will not stand forever. Truth will be used to bring them down to defeat. A compromised priest named Eli had two...
Some answers to our prayers are not meant for us to possess. Those answers are to be given to the Lord for His use, because the answers were a miracle, not something we were able to accomplish. Scripture tells us of a woman named Hannah who was married to a man named...
Jan and I learned something years ago that had to do with creating a spiritual safety border around our finances. We could never allow an ungrateful attitude to exist. Ungratefulness can lead people to make desperate and unwise choices in an attempt to satisfy the...
Of late, I have felt compelled to write about issues facing the Church that if not processed by the wisdom of Scripture and the insight of the Spirit, could lead us to destinations fatal to our faith. One such issue is an error that can seem appealing and reasonable...
Not all that is being called fresh revelation is a word from the Lord. Some of this "fresh revelation" can be a Trojan horse of deception that looks innocuous and agreeable to the immature. When allowed to enter our circles of fellowship without discernment it will be...
Spiritual warfare is a popular topic. We discuss the tactics and spiritual weapons we will need to challenge hell’s aggression against people, churches, and the affairs of nations. What we don’t talk much about is another battle, a personal one that takes place within...
We need to be careful how we describe the Old Covenant. Today, it is becoming increasingly popular to portray the Old Covenant in a negative light. Both the Old and New Covenants were administrated by the same God, the God of Mercy. I want to say something upfront to...

When the hope of an accomplishment, an unusual opportunity, or the promise of personal notoriety is offered to us, it’s too easy to place ourselves under a yoke of compromise with individuals, groups, or worldviews that are contrary to our calling as a child of God....
Battlefield commissions are being issued on the field of spiritual warfare that will create new ranks of leadership within the Church. In the military, a battlefield commission is awarded to enlisted soldiers who are promoted to commissioned officer rank for...
While all forms of sin will separate us from God, when it comes to sexual sin, there is a difference. Paul wrote, “Run away from sexual sin! No other sin so clearly affects the body as this one does” (I Corinthians 6:18). The next time someone tells you that sexual...
We are being told that to discover the truth requires that we read between the lines. In that empty space is a widening vagueness that allows people to interpret what is true employing vain imaginations and wild speculation to lead the way. Paul told the Corinthians,...
Prophetic words of warning that seem harsh and out of sync with the calm illusion of a forever stable status quo can disrupt those living on the beach of assumption who are lounging in their illusion. These disruptive words come long before the tsunami of reality...
The image I saw was a believer standing before a person of authority in full uniform. The person of authority was wearing captain bars designating their rank. I knew the captain represented more than a single person. They stood as a representative of a system of...
