Buyer’s remorse is not limited to purchasing something and then later realizing the product was not all it promised. This remorse can be expanded to include the choices we make, the votes we cast, or the assumptions we were led to believe were true. 

Just as it would make no sense to continue using a faulty product, so it is with whatever choices we made that aligned us with a misrepresented product, idea, or worldview. 

We have a way out of this place of remorse. It is discovered in our willingness to be honest about our failed assumptions and humble enough to admit our mistakes. Honesty and humility will lead us to repentance. Those of us unwilling to enter that honest and humble place will become compliant and stubborn advertisers promoting the very thing that caused us to experience buyer’s remorse in the first place.
