A fast and accurate delivery of truth offered at the precise moment of God’s timing can release devastation upon the plans of the enemy.

In the classic movie, “The Patriot”, starring Mel Gibson, one of his sons had been taken captive by British forces during the time of the Revolutionary War. Gibson portrayed a man who wanted peace, but he could not allow his son to meet the fate planned for him. He had to intervene to rescue his captive son.

Gibson was aided in the rescue with the help of his two younger sons.  As the troop came into view, Gibson asked his sons, “What did I tell you fellas about shooting?”  The boys answered in unison, “Aim small, miss small.” As the troop came into view, Gibson paused and prayed, “Lord, make me fast and accurate.” Within a few minutes after the attack began, Gibson and his sons had decimated the entire group of British soldiers. It was the fast and accurate delivery of the rescue that changed the outcome.

The disciples asked the Lord, “Show us how to increase our faith” (Luke 17:5). The Lord answered their inquiry, “If you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mulberry tree, ‘May you be uprooted and be planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you!” (Luke 17:6).

The interaction between Jesus and His disciples was not about the largeness of their faith. An act of faith the size of a mustard seed, if delivered fast and accurately, and within God’s timing, will have devastating results on what opposes the will of God. A timely and biblically sound word will seem minuscule as an overwhelming enemy approaches our lives. That confrontation with deception will require one thing of us – the courage to deliver the truth of God when the Lord says it’s time to speak.

We have entered a time when the enemy of our faith is approaching our personal lives and our nation attempting to take captive the things we love and hold dear. God is calling men and women who appear outnumbered and doomed to defeat to rise and intervene by speaking the truth in love delivering their mustard seed of faith into the conflict. When God orchestrates the content and delivery of His truth, we are never outnumbered no matter who or what we are facing.
