It’s God’s nature to save His people and overthrow His enemies—an action we did nothing to earn or win. His salvation has always been for Israel and the whole world. His love moves Him to make our deliverance His cause.

Yesterday, I wrote about those who walked in darkness and lived in the shadows of death, but now a glorious light shines upon them. It’s the light of Jesus. His birth brings the end of night. He lifts the gloom of all who are in distress. He is the light of rescue. His mission is to break the bonds of our slavery and lift our heavy burdens from our shoulders.  (see Isaiah 9:2-4). 

Complete, sovereign dominion rests on His shoulders. He is our political and spiritual leader, our Champion-God, our Extraordinary Strategist.He is our Supernatural Counselor, our Living Word, our infallible, inexhaustible Source of wisdom and guidance. He is our Prince of Peace, our Wonderful One, our infinite Hero and Warrior Prince.

He brings immeasurable peace and prosperity and promotes justice and all that is right and good. “The passionate commitment of the Lord of Heaven’s Armies will make this happen!” (Isaiah 9:7).

This prophecy of deliverance was fulfilled. Jesus will not revise His plans. Our errors and sins will not thwart His purposes. He will right the wrongs and bring justice. The darkest things we’ve walked through will be bathed in His glory-light. May He expand His peace into every facet of our lives. May joy be magnified and multiplied in us.
