While the signs of the times are worth watching and investigating, those signs do not reveal the complete will or plan of God. There are times when the mist of uncertainty clouds our ability to perceive what is happening in our world. It’s then that we must move beyond our ability to predict outcomes and simply trust that God is at work.
Yesterday evening, Jan and I were talking about our lives and what is happening in our world. We all have opinions, but those opinions must not be what give us comfort because they are untrustworthy. As we continued talking, Jan read a paragraph from her book, Blessings from the Prophet Isaiah Volume III, where she crafted a portion of Scripture from Isaiah 48 into a blessing. The following is the excerpt Jan read to me.
“In order to bring us to full conviction and wean our hearts from our idols, God Himself designed a strategy. He speaks an undated prediction, and couples it with sudden fulfillment. No time factor stands in the way of His word – He will fulfill His word with unpredictable suddenness no one can foresee or take credit for.”
When Jan read those words a beautiful peace came over me like a warm blanket on a cold night. God has planned sudden works of His hand to take place none of us could imagine and our most accurate prophets could not predict. He is weaning us from the idols of our predictions and the places where we have wrongly placed our hope. In these confusing times of life, those who place their hope in the sovereign, supernatural God of Heaven will never be disappointed. I would invite you to do what Jan and I did last night. We laid down our opinions exchanging them for a greater treasure – trust.
So Awesome!!!
Thankyou so much ❤️
AMEN! Thank you both for sharing this!
In my opinion, that is a good word!
