There is a familiar phrase that says “They have his ear” referring to someone who has allowed a select group of people have access to their decision-making process. This morning, I was asking the Lord for a word and He said, “I want the ear of My people.”  

We all have trusted friends and others with valuable experience who provide input in our decision-making process. Scripture tells us there is wisdom in a wide variety of counsel. It is part of a healthy and balanced life, but those counselors were never intended to be our final and ultimate source of our information.  There is some input only God can supply.

This is a time of transition where many are wondering how to take the next step and where to get the information needed to make important, and in some cases, life-altering decisions. If you are processing a critical decision, step away from the input offered by other people and get alone with God. Let Him have your ear before you take action. This is a time to rely only on God’s divine wisdom. It is wisdom that comes directly from His mouth to our ear without any intermediate filters of interpretation. Only then will we know how to move forward in faith and confidence.
