There have been a few times when I listened to people share their concept of God that I come away from those conversations seeing an image of a god who is so damaged that I want to hand the person a bottle of anti-depressant pills to help medicate their stressed out version of a deity. These broken images represent a god who is insecure, mean-spirited and filled with the desire to destroy everyone and everything. Never forget the God of Heaven is a good Father who has extravagant plans to love each of us as returning prodigals. He meets us when we return from the consequence of our poor choices with a robe, a ring and a party.
