ON THIS SIDE OF THE FENCE

by | Aug 25, 2023 | Prophetic | 3 comments

This morning while reading the word, an image appeared in my spirit of a hand reaching over a fence and dropping a note. The fence separated the present from the future. The note was a promise from God assigned to a time and place of future fulfillment. The fence represented obstacles currently in place that were physical, time-related, or spiritual obstacles.

When we know a promise has been deposited in our future and continue to pray into its fulfillment we will live in hope. Hope empowers our belief that God is at work in our future preparing the context for the fulfillment of a promise no matter what is taking place on this side of the fence. This is especially important when what is happening in our current circumstance tries to dissuade us from believing that God will be faithful to fulfill what He has promised.

“And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires” (II Peter 1:4).

I just wish to thank Garris for posting an encouragement about a month ago regarding a kayak in a torrent when its oar broke on top of everything else. Garris said only God would and could get that kayak through. I am happy to say this business and financial issue has now been totally resolved in a pleasant way. it wasn’t an easy ride but here we are. Everytime I started to entertain doubt or “what could go wrong ” I made myself remember Garris blog post. it got me through. Thank you Lord. Thank you Garris.

We sometimes fail to distinguish the sovereign promises of God from those requiring our faith.

I do not see Pharaoh’s dream requiring prophetic intercession, fasting and prayer, or other acts of the saints to bring about.

May we seek God to know what he requires of us, and what he reserves to himself.
