Any possession or experience not submitted to the Lordship of Jesus Christ will eventually become a garish absurdity. Abundance beyond the satisfaction of our basic needs must have a Kingdom assignment or it will morph into a perversion of God’s original intent. 

Money, sex, power and every other human experience will find its greatest fulfillment when administered from within the will of God. This is what Paul was referring to when he described self-control as one of the fruits harvested under the influence of a Spirit-led life.

Possessing an abundant and overflowing life requires the exercise of wisdom in order to steward each experience to a place of health and fullness.  Once you learn this principle you can do all things through Christ.  He will be faithful to give you the ability to enjoy the good things of life without any feeling of guilt or remorse. Choose wisely.
