Each generation receives prophetic words spoken over them by the fathers and mothers of faith who represent a previous generation. Jan and I have received such words from prophetic people like the late Dick Mills, Jean Darnall, and others who carried a similar heart. We wrote those words down and have reviewed them over the years.

Those words spoke hope-filled revelation about our future while that future was still a distant and unexplored place. When challenging times crossed our path, we revisited those words to find our way forward.

When Jan and I began in ministry nearly five decades ago, we were walking into the uncharted landscape of our future. There were times when we wanted to give up and times when we missed the mark.

Along the way we discovered that those words were waiting for us—words of encouragement in challenging seasons as we stepped into the unknown.

Those words became our invitation to come and taste the goodness of God. Words of hope have no expiration date. They reside in our future, waiting to be grasped in faith and lived out with anticipation.
