God designed us to heal in our brains. Dr. Warren, a neurosurgeon, wrote that as soon as we are ready to change, our brain is ready to change. Neuroplasticity shows that how we respond to a person rubs off on them. They pick up our emotional state and begin to make actual structural changes in their brain to mirror how we are feeling and behaving. 

We can partner with God in our human interactions when we ask Him to love through us and speak through us. He is the Source of Life—not us. It has to be Jesus in us—every time! We no longer have to prove our self-worth by striving to be enough. To be loving enough. To be good enough. Scripture tells us to strive, instead, to enter into His rest.

We can say what Paul said: “It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me” (Galatians 2:20). “I worked harder than all of them, yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me” (1 Corinthians 15:10). 

What a relief to repeatedly turn to Jesus and receive Love and Life. And what we receive, we can give out.
