THE INVASION

Just as artillery softens up a coastline for the landing of troops in natural warfare, so has it been in the last several years where lies and deception have bombarded the soft borders of our discernment allowing spiritual enemies access to our lives. It is akin to an alien invasion of things alien to biblical truth. As a result, personal relationships, religious institutions, and seats of government are being overrun with dark forces determined to undermine truth. All is not lost. Do not despair. God is at work most profoundly when darkness is on the move.

The invasion of these demonic influences has taken out the defense of common sense and personal integrity. Those entrusted to lead nations and some leaders within the Church have no idea what is taking place because they failed to see the massing of the invading forces of darkness just over the horizon of their comprehension. This spiritual invasion will be vicious and uncompromising as it begins to affect every area of our lives with a determined mission to control and enslave.

The Lord is merciful. He desires that none should perish, either eternally or in an actual life and death conflict. This current invasion is not His judgment. It is the consequence of our sin, ignorance, and the abdication of personal integrity.

As these unimagined scenarios of invasion begin to play out, do not lose hope. Fear is corrosive to our faith. It has the power to dissolve our hope and diminish our love. Keep your eyes on the hand of God. His hand is about to move in profound ways to stall the invasion and reveal the identity of the commanders of the invasion who have been able to work in the shadows and out of sight.

Those who follow the movement of the Lord’s hand will be led to a safe place while the turmoil of the invasion unfolds. No matter how deafening the artillery of hell sounds or how paralyzing the fearful vision of an invading army of darkness might appear, the Lord will prevail. God’s people have been here before. Through confession, repentance, and intervening prayer we have always endured these invasions to see brighter days.

“Behold, as the eyes of servants look to the hand of their master, as the eyes of a maidservant to the hand of her mistress, so our eyes look to the Lord our God, till he has mercy upon us” (Psalm 123:2).

In the analogy of a body, faith is a muscle that enables movement and also brings resilience and stability against unwanted motion. But a muscle only operates when its ends are joined (through connective tissue) to two bones. Hebrews reminds us that faith is anchored on one end to hope, and Ephesians tells us that faith is rooted in love.
Faith moves us to act or to stand firm because of hope, and love eradicates fear, giving faith strong roots so that we can stand.

Warriors are trained to face fears and act courageously despite fear. As soldiers in the Lord’s Army, may we do the same.
