Just before World War I and the Russian Revolution broke out, Hitler, Stalin, and Trotsky all lived within a mile of each other in Vienna. There is no evidence they knew one another. Their proximity to each other can teach us something about spiritual warfare.

There has always been an assembling of the puppets used by the devil to wreak disorder, terror, and death upon the world. They come together around the seats of governmental authority, like national capitals, or in influential gatherings of world leaders and their power brokers. These are the seats of authority where demonic powers assemble to form alliances and receive their marching orders from the principalities and powers of the spiritual realm. The intent o these assembled groups is not discerned by natural insight, even the assembled individuals are not always aware of all that is taking place. The very mention of the nefarious motives of these assembled groups is rejected as conspiratorial by the naïve. These functioning puppets do not need to know each other just as it was for Hitler, Stalin, and Trotsky before demonic powers called them forth to do their bidding.

Alliances of darkness have been assembled on the world stage. Their combined efforts, if discerned properly, can become points of prayer and inspire acts of faith that can stumble their evil plans. 

The historic record of this time regarding how the Church lived and responded to what is happening is being written. The phrase about living “on the right side of history” has had chilling implications in our not-so-distant past when evil was allowed to take place and its reality was ignored by people of faith.  

Mounting evidence indicates that an in-gathering of the puppets used by dark spirits to release evil strategies has moved into the same intellectual and spiritual neighborhood. This is not a time to align with the dismissal, mockery, and ignorance regarding what is taking place. We are standing in a historic intersection where engaged prayer, prophetic declarations, and Spirit-led interventions will be used by the Lord to stumble the works of hell and advance His Kingdom. That is the side of history where we want to be found standing.
