For the last few days, I’ve experienced emotions like the ones I felt on the morning of 9/11. When that attack took place, my mind went back to my days on SWAT duty. I found myself preparing emotionally and tactically for what might follow the attack. The same thing is happening now regarding the terrorist attack in Israel and the possibility of similar attacks taking place in America. My head is on a swivel looking with greater scrutiny at what is around me as I move forward in my day.

A more significant swiveling of my head is taking place spiritually. When obvious demonic activity is manifesting like the barbarism displayed this week in Israel when babies were beheaded, women being raped, and entire families slaughtered in their homes, it reveals to us that hell has been emboldened, and in some cases, given permission to continue to wreak hellish havoc in our world.

Overnight, intelligence sources have said we are at a new DEFCON threat level in America from the embedded terrorist cells that are already in place in our communities. While there is an occasional heightened warning of viable threats to our national security in the natural, it’s nothing new in the realm of spiritual warfare. We should always be on DEFCON 1, the highest level of spiritual alert for any assault on our faith. Our prowling enemy is always active looking for a way into our spiritual defenses. This is not about living in a constant state of suspicion. It is about awareness.

On our SWAT team, we had someone assigned as the Utility Man. He carried the flash bang and smoke grenades, cutting and entry tools, and security tape. He walked backward while the rest of us moved forward. He covered our six with a shotgun loaded with 00 buckshot. After we secured a room, he would tape the door shut as a notice that the room was clear.

I keep hearing the Lord say to clear all the rooms of our faith to ensure we are walking clean and secure into the future. An unresolved past is an open door to a surprise attack in the future when we least expect it.  These unresolved spiritual rooms are a greater danger to the success of our mission than actual embedded terrorist cells that may be present in our nation at this time. 

We should always be spiritually vigilant making sure our lives have been cleared of any presence that wants to destroy our faith, both in the future and from our past. That is the only way we can move forward on our mission and not become a vulnerable liability should a surprise attack appear from our unresolved six taking us by surprise.

Prophetic insight offers us two things – an awareness of what is coming and a warning to make sure we have secured those areas in our past that we assumed were clear and free of any remaining threat. Without those two revelations at work, we will become unnecessarily vulnerable and unable to function at the highest level of spirituality. 

Keep both your spiritual and natural head on a swivel in the coming weeks. Things will appear that only a fully informed and aware person will be able to navigate with wisdom and confidence.
