In a time of Communion with Jan, I saw an image of two doors opening in the Pacific Northwest. From Oregon, one door opened to the north, leading into Washington. The other opened to the south, leading into California. Through these doors, truth and what is right and good will flood into the bordering states. Those open doors will also influence our nation.
My attention was immediately drawn to the upcoming elections, though I did not see the specific results. I interpreted the open doors from Oregon as a sign that a major shift is coming. This kind of change can only come by the hand of God, who works in and through the Church.
The statistical improbability of a 42-year reign of one-party governance in Oregon has become a visible reality. We have moved further from good governance and godly truths. Our schools, businesses, finances, and freedoms have taken a nosedive. Oregon, Washington, and California have solidified and fortified one another in this direction, but that wall is beginning to crack.
God has commissioned us to participate in every sphere of society. Statistically, far too many choose to forfeit their God-given right to vote. That mindset needs to be reformed. Politics is not a dirty word.
Those in politics are the ones given authority to make decisions and settle differences so that we can live together in peace. They create and enforce the laws and policies that shape the lives of families, schools, businesses, communities, and entire states.
Our prayers should lead to action. Our very presence in the land will change the social environment of a nation. We need to vote for those who will be given the authority to affect our lives.
