We can settle it in our hearts once and for all that God can be trusted—all the time. Each time we read about a promise fulfilled in Scripture, it was written to instruct us on how to live in hope and how to endure all things. The fulfillment of promises proves God’s faithfulness and kindness to all people (see Romans 15:8).

For example: King David prophesied: “Passion for your house has consumed me, and the insults of those who insult you have fallen on me” (Psalm 69:9). That prophecy was confirmed by Jesus the Messiah, sent as a servant to fulfill the Scriptures. He passionately and violently clears the Temple of the money changers in response to insults against His Father’s House.

Later on, the disciples remember what was written about Jesus. Paul also referenced the same Psalm, saying: “The insults of those who insult you, O God, have fallen on me” (see John 2:17 & Romans 15: 3-4).

Because Jesus proved God’s faithfulness and kindness, how else could we respond to such costly love except with a decision to trust Him? He never dishonors His word. 

He is your Inspiration, your Fountain of Hope. May He fill you with overflowing, uncontainable joy and perfect peace as you trust in Him. May the power of the Holy Spirit surround your life continually with His super-abundance until you radiate with hope (see Romans 15:13).

He is your Joy. And you are His joy. For the joy set before Him, He went to the Cross. His joy is your strength. If your “joy-center” is not full. If your “joy-center” was emptied long ago from a childhood loss, leaving you without the resilience needed to navigate accumulated loss or trauma over the years, entrust yourself to Jesus. 

He is your Fountain of Hope. May He fill you with overflowing, uncontainable joy and perfect peace as you trust in Him. May the power of the Holy Spirit surround your life continually with His super-abundance until you radiate with hope (see Romans 15:13).
