If redemption is not the most powerful motivating influence in our lives, then all our efforts to bring about change and reform a broken world will become proof that we have been serving another kingdom, not the Kingdom of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Each of us needs to walk back our emotions, our perceived offenses, and any plans we have made regarding the future to determine their motivating source. If, in that search, we discover something other than redemption is influencing our thoughts and actions, we must ask for forgiveness and invite the Lord to heal our souls.
Redemption is the heart and mission of a warrior in God’s Kingdom. Without it, we will lose our way and end up fighting the wrong battles.
“For the Son of Man came to seek and save those who are lost” (Luke 19:10).
